I Don't Know

next update / last update
Narrated by Keisha Robinson

So I wake up one morning and it seems like a regular day... wake up, shower, shovel in dad’s food since it’s always so good and get ready to clear the table. But then mom and dad start getting all lovey-dovey right in front of me and my little bro. Ugh! Photobucket
So I grabbed Brian and took him outside to play. I know our parents love each other but I wish they wouldn't make out right in front of us... especially right after we've eaten *gag*. I would say get a room but it is kinda their house.

 Photobucket
The school bus couldn't come soon enough because I swear I heard mom and dad upstairs in their bedroom... doing stuff. *Double gag* Can't they wait until the bus actually drives off?!
 Photobucket
Anyway, I get home and attempt to do all the homework that's been piling on my desk. I've been really slacking ever since I started high school but I just can't seem to get into it. Way too much work.
 Photobucket
I don't even know why I have to go anyway. I really just want to get married and start a family.
 Photobucket
We get our first snowfall and what does my genius little brother decide to do? Go outside in shorts to play basketball. Dad called him inside before he got too cold though.

 Photobucket
Anyway, Dad pulls me aside one day to tell me that I should really start to apply myself in school because he wants me to work in his bakery. Possibly even run it if I can prove myself. Dad's bakery does pull in a decent amount of money but eh, working? That requires... work doesn't it?
 Photobucket
My senior year, I really worked my butt off to earn at least a passing grade. I caught up on all my homework and was just hoping I didn't wait too late to apply myself.

Since my birthday was quickly approaching, I ran out to the 1st Street Boutique to buy some new clothes. Photobucket
While waiting for the cab to take me back home, I sprawled out on a nearby bench to think about my future. I kind of want to go to college because a lot of friends will likely be going. But I don't have the grades or the motivation.
Photobucket
But dad keeps bringing up the bakery and I really hope I don't disappoint him if I don't get into college. Photobucket
From the looks of it, you'd never know I had a boyfriend, but I do. His name is Ryan Baker. We haven't had time to see each other for a while so I called him up and invited him over one day after school. Photobucket
He's a gorgeous guy but isn't too bright sometimes. It was the middle of winter and he didn't even wear a coat when he came over.
 Photobucket
That didn’t stop me from planting a big wet one on him when I saw him. That should warm him up a little. Photobucket
We spend a while just standing outside catching up. I told him all about how my dad wants me to study culinary arts so I can be a baker at his bakery and possibly take it over one day.
 Photobucket
I asked him what he thought about it and he thought it was a great idea. He said he'll come with me no matter what college I go to.
 Photobucket

He's such a sweetheart.
Photobucket
I felt bad standing outside with my warm coat on and Ryan without one, so I finally invite him in. We walk passed my dad and Brian playing rock, paper, scissors and dad gets WAY too into the game. It's really not that serious, dad.
Photobucket
They head outside to toss the football around a little and even that is too much for dad. Or Brian is just being malicious. He's sweet when he wants to be but he does have a mean streak.
 PhotobucketPhotobucket
See? He sees nothing wrong with tossing the ball as hard as he did. Photobucket
But Ryan and I are too busy to think about them, or to even notice that my mom finally came home from work.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Speaking of which, you haven't seen much of her, and neither have we, with the exception of breakfast some mornings. She's a General Practitioner and gets home around 6 or 6:30 every evening. But she usually heads to Crystal Creek Medical Center right after work to do some research and she gets home way after we’ve all gone to bed.
Photobucket
She's been trying to work her way up to a Specialist, so has been studying and experimenting with different medicines.
Photobucket
She told me she's even practiced surgery a few times on their surgical dummy so that she's prepared if she ever has the opportunity to become a Surgeon.
Photobucket
But she said she has to practice a lot more before she's ready to operate on a real person. PhotobucketPhotobucket
Anyway, it was my last day at school and I pretty much slacked off all day. I hung out with one of my best friends Joel Rodriguez and we basically gossiped all morning.
Photobucket
The day went by in a blur and afterwards, everyone seemed to just hang around on the school grounds. Apparently rock, paper, scissors is a pretty intense game.
Photobucket
But Ryan and I pretty much kept to ourselves before we each headed home. Photobucket
Oh yea... unfortunately, I waited too long to apply myself in school and I actually failed. Dad was not happy at all.
Photobucket
I blew out the candles on my cake alone and tried to figure out what I was going to do with my life now that I couldn't get into any college.

Some random pics:
Quick pics of Will Robinson’s bakery named Tasty Treat. I took some pics when I sent him down there to work a couple days but that was before I figured out who was doing the story telling this round. The lot was built by Wolfsim at TSR but the interior was done by me. I’m still trying to decide what I want to do with this lot because my restaurants never make money on their own because of how many employees you need and how much they cost to employ. Sometimes EAxis really annoys me with stupid bugs and things in the game. But then I notice little details like this. Snow on the basketball.
Photobucket
Sims are funny. This one is sitting outside at one of the snow covered tables, in her raincoat, eating ice cream. Photobucket
LOL I didn't know adults/elders could sit at the lemonade stand. I forgot that I put it in their store and when I turned the camera around, there's Cheng sitting there. I felt bad and had Will buy some lemonade from him.
 Photobucket
Brian is very athletic.
Photobucket
He's also a mean sim (1 point in niceness) but I caught him holding his teddy bear like he was sweet and innocent. That was the one and only time he's ever touched the thing and it was on the 5th day I was in their house. I bought it when he aged to a kid at the end of the last round.

Notes:
Keisha wasn’t alone when she blew out her candles. Dad was standing off camera but I think Brian was in the bathroom. Mom was at work.

Keisha failing was basically my fault lol. Most teens don't really roll wants to do homework like kids do. I think it's mainly Knowledge sims that do. I try to play based on their wants and Keisha didn't want anything school related until it was too late (which was just the want to go to college). She eventually had the fear of even going to school. I did try to get her grades up so that she could at least go to the Academy for Culinary Arts (which I haven’t even made yet) but nope, FAIL! My first failed student. So instead of worrying about if they'll roll the want to do their homework, I've put Harder Grades back in. So hopefully I'll have varying grades so that all my kids can't get into Crystal Creek University and have to go to the Academy or the Technical school. I might even try an idea I picked up on someone else's blog and only allow sims who have a career specific LTW to go to college. But I'm not sure what I'm going to do with her yet. Her dad is a family sim and her mom is a knowledge sim and I would think they would be a little pissed that she failed high school.

Oh and another weird thing is that Keisha has Family as her primary aspiration and ROMANCE as her second (I forgot that I randomly picked her 2nd aspiration and romance was it). But the weird thing was that she rolled absolutely no wants to do anything romantic with anyone. Not even her boyfriend, which is the reason she said she hadn’t seen him in a while (because I forgot she was going steady with him lol). Weirdest family (and romance) sim ever. I remembered it when I looked at her fears and one of them was the fear that they'd break up and the other was of him dying. I figured that something was screwing up the family/romance combination in my game and changed her second aspiration to fortune. Romance really didn't fit her in my head anyway. So hopefully she'll be a less weird family sim and actually roll some wants related to it.

If the centering is a little off on the pics, it's because I tried something different. I uploaded the pics to photobucket this time so they'd be a little bigger and Blogger crops them weird.

  1. Oh, I have a TON of Family/Romance and Romance/Family Sims in my game. I like them, because they're always so conflicted. They bring the dramas, for real! I also have a Fortune/Family couple who are my favourite Sims ever though, so that combo can be fun too.

Funny you should be talking about knowledge Sims and homework wants. I just played a knowledge Sim last night and she currently has 3 assignments piled up on her desk because she hasn't rolled the want to do them. Grumble, grumble. Maybe I'll give harder grades a shot instead. I've never tried it before.

Keisha's cute, as is her boyfriend. Is Ryan a townie? I didn't see Baker listed in your labels but I thought maybe he was from a new family you haven't introduced yet.

LOL @ Cheng at the lemonade stand. I knew adults could use it but I didn't know anyone could use it autonomously!

  2. I wonder if I would have let her age to adult with the Family/Romance aspirations it would have kicked in. By the time I play that house again, I'll decide if I'll give that combo a try. I do have a few hacks that block annoying wants so maybe I just have too many want related hacks lol.

Aww. I guess it is just random whether a sim rolls the want to do homework or not. So I'll see how harder grades works out for now.

And glad you like Keisha and Ryan. Thanks! Ryan is a townie but he's one of the ones I made. Well, a friend made him and instead of making a family for him, I tossed him in the townie pool. Same with Shelah, and a bunch of other townies, which is the reason I don't mind that Paul is involved with her. To me, she's kind of a playable that I just didn't want to play.
