Lot Tour & Download: Bear Lake Campground

Tour & Download: Bear Lake Campground

I showed a little peek of my campground a few days ago at N99 and got some requests for a tour; so here it is!

(for those of you at N99, this is a copy/paste from that thread)

I decided to name it Bear Lake Campground for no other reason than when I searched for names of campgrounds on Google, "Bear [something]" came up. Here’s a quick overview of the entire lot. It’s a makeover of the Swimming and Fitness at Woodland Park lot by CatherineTCJD @ MTS.

Don’t mind the lighter square patches in the water. They become invisible in live mode. Those are invisible pond pieces by netmicro @MTS that make it possible to fish in the swimmable lake. I kept getting errors when I directed my sims to fish, but once I added those pieces, it worked fine.
This is the entrance. I should have named it Deer Lake so that that sign would be more accurate. I’ll make a recolor one of these days. Or I'll just rename the lot lol.
The park originally had a chess section and I decided to keep it because I couldn’t think of anything else to put here.

Here are the state-of-the-art restrooms and bathing quarters.

The bridge leading to the actual camping area.

The Hu family, for those who don’t follow my blog, is very large--7 sims, so I needed a lot of tents. I’ll probably reconfigure this setup depending on how many sims I send here.

Grilling area and dining. Again, I’ll probably reconfigure the seating depending on the number of sims that stay here.

A view down the trail. I put down a billion more trees compared to what was on the original lot. I love how it looks like you’re really in the middle of the woods.

Here’s the dock.

More of the trail. There are plenty of places to rest along the trail.

View across the lake.

A small playground for the kids or kids at heart.

And a little gazebo tucked in the corner for those who want a little quiet time.

View from the gazebo.

Another view across the lake.

Some other shots (I just couldn’t stop taking pics).

And this is where I placed the lot on the Three Lakes terrain. It’s in the hidden area all the way in the corner of the map. It was the only area big enough to place the lot and still look secluded.

I located and pinned most of the custom content that I used in this lot that I didn't include in the zip. Visit my Pinterest for info on where to get the original lot (TS2 Lots), swing set & merry-go-round (TS2 Sets), tree house (TS2 Misc), etc.

Enjoy! :)

  1. This looks AMAZING! Seriously love it! Thank you for sharing it, and um, I did not know that there was a lot space like that in the game! I'll have to put mine down there too, looks perfectly secluded. Your lot makes me excited to go camping!

    1. Thanks very much, Maisie! Glad you like it so much and hope you get good use out of it. I didn't realize that spot was there either until I got the camera mod. There are little hidden areas on each of the vacation terrains. :)

  2. I didn't know that area was there either! I can't remember if you said it on N99 but I was reading that on my phone, so I may have missed it.

Thanks again for sharing this lot. I can't wait to get my computer so I can put it in my hood. :D

  3. Thanks Carla! Yup, I mentioned it at N99, but like you said, it's easy to miss things when you're viewing on your phone. The location is tucked away behind what looks like a mountain. I thought most people knew about the secret locations since I was so late getting into BV! Glad I pointed it out!

I can't wait to see this in everyone's hoods! I hope your sims have as much fun as the Hus did. :)

  4. Very nice, it looks a bit larger than the lots I usually use for my hoods, but that's nothing a little "modify hood terrain" cheating can't fix. LOL, that's how bad I want this lot
